Common Kai first

This site teaches ordinary Common Kai before sacred, symbolic, or Lumin work. Beginners should keep Sacred Kai as later specialist material until the plain sentence is stable.

  • Find the practical Common Kai meaning.
  • Say who or what is acting, needing, asking, or being described.
  • Open sacred, poetic, or Lumin notes only after the plain reading is clear.

Objectives

  • Ask where someone is going and when they will go.
  • Give simple directions using li, na, al, and en.
  • Talk about roads, paths, routes, and unclear routes.
  • Use mino, yarrin, rino, and yanai for plans, schedules, time points, and appointments.
  • Ask permission with vari.
  • Use practical wait, stay, and ready phrases.
  • Write a travel-and-appointment dialogue.

Everyday Scope

This unit turns the Beginner relation phrases into everyday movement.

Situation Useful Pattern
going to a place Mi el yare li sannoa.
going from a place Mi el yare na noa.
going by a route Mi el yare al yaro.
asking where Ti el yare li yava?
asking when Nai an yare yari?
asking the plan Mino e yano?
saying the schedule Yarrin te mi.
saying an appointment exists Yanai te mi rinan.
asking an appointment time Rino na yanai e yano?
asking permission Mi e vari li yare ya?

Use these forms literally first. A route can become symbolic in stories, but this unit is about getting somewhere.

Directions with li, na, al, and en

Use the relation particles from Beginner Kai.

Particle Everyday Travel Meaning Example
li to, toward, destination Mi el yare li sannoa.
na from, source Mi el yare na noa.
al through, by, route Mi el yare al yaro.
en in, at, within Mi en kamnoa.

Build directions from the center outward:

subject + action + destination/source/route/place

Kai English
Ti el yare li kamnoa. You are going to work / the workplace.
Nai an yare li sannoa rinan. We will go to the clinic later.
Mi el yare na lunnoa. I am going from the school.
Si el yare al yaro. They are going by the road.
Mi en vennoa rine. I am in the meeting room now.

Asking for Directions

Use yava for where and yaal for how.

Kai English
Sannoa en yava? Where is the clinic?
Kamnoa en yava? Where is the workplace?
Vennoa en yava? Where is the meeting room?
Ti el yare li yava? Where are you going?
Ti el yare al yava? Which way / through where are you going?
Mi el yare li sannoa yaal? How do I go to the clinic?

Answer with a simple route first.

Kai English
Ma yare li vao. Go to the door.
Ma yare al yaro. Go by the road.
Ma yare li vennoa. Go to the meeting room.
Ma hole en tio. Wait / stay here.

Plans with mino

Use Mino e yano? to ask the plan.

Kai English
Mino e yano? What is the plan?
Mino te ti rine. The plan / decision is with you now.
Nai an yare li sannoa rinan. We will go to the clinic later.
Nai an venlune rinan. We will discuss later.
Rine e sai. Now is good.
Sha rine. Not now.

Use an for intended action. Do not write Nai an el yare.

Schedules and Time Points

Use yarrin for schedule and rino for date, hour, or visible time point.

Kai English
Yarrin te mi. I have the schedule.
Yarrin te ti ya? Do you have the schedule?
Rino e yano? What is the time point?
Rino na yanai e yano? What is the appointment / meeting time?
Rintelo en yava? Where is the clock?
Sairin e rine. Now is the right time.
Sharin e rine. Now is the wrong time.

If exact dates or clock times matter, it is acceptable to use visible numbers, written dates, or local loan forms with rino. This unit trains the Kai frame, not a full calendar system.

Appointments as Planned Meetings

For appointment-like situations, use yanai as a meeting and add time or place.

Kai English
Yanai te mi rinan. I have an appointment / meeting later.
Yanai en vennoa rine. The meeting is in the meeting room now.
Yanai en sannoa rinan. The appointment is at the clinic later.
Rino na yanai e yano? What is the appointment / meeting time?
Yanai en yava? Where is the meeting / appointment?

For medical settings, keep the place explicit:

Yanai en sannoa rinan.

The appointment is at the clinic later.

Permission and Readiness

Use vari for permission.

Kai English
Mi e vari li yare ya? May I go? / Am I permitted to go?
Ti e vari li en ya? May you enter? / Are you permitted to enter?
Sai, ti e vari li yare. Yes, you may go.
Sha, ti sha e vari li yare. No, you are not permitted to go.

Use Mi e niva li yare for ready to go.

Kai English
Mi e niva li yare. I am ready to go.
Ti e niva li yare ya? Are you ready to go?
Nai e niva li yare. We are ready to go.

Waiting, Staying, and Delay

Kai English
Ma hole en tio. Wait / stay here.
Ma a rin. One moment, please.
Sha rine. Not now.
Nai el nive rali rin. We need more time.
Yaro e sha lumo. The route / plan is unclear.

Yaro e sha lumo is an everyday idiom. It can mean the physical route is unclear or the plan is unclear. Add literal detail if safety matters.

Scenario 1: Asking Where to Go

Kai English
Sannoa en yava? Where is the clinic?
Sannoa en sio. The clinic is there / in that place.
Mi el yare li sannoa yaal? How do I go to the clinic?
Ma yare al yaro. Go by the road.
Ma hole en tio. Wait here.
Sai. Mi e miri rine. Yes. I understand now.

Scenario 2: Schedule and Appointment

Sai. Mi e niva li yare. Yes. I am ready to go.
Nai an yare li kamnoa rinan. We will go to the workplace later.
Ma nai te. Stay together.

Watch Out

Risk Better Everyday Kai
Using li for every relation Use li for destination, na for source, al for route, en for place.
Treating rino as a full calendar system Use it as a visible time point; add local numbers or loans when exact time matters.
Saying an appointment without place or time Add en sannoa, en vennoa, rine, or rinan.
Using poetic route idioms in safety contexts Use direct route instructions first.
Confusing ability and permission Use vari for permission.
